Selfless Love - Thought 1

Hello!

The idea of selfless love is a rather poetic one. It sounds so wonderful to express ones experience of love as a rather selfless one. But what does it truly mean to be selfless? One might easily confuse the notion of giving as that of being selfless, yet it shouldn't be so easily confused.

Being human requires many self needs, of which any shouldn't ever be neglected. Taking care of ones needs is self love, the ability to quench the individuals own desires is but necessary to permit one to become truly selfless. What truly permits anyone to become selfless is the ability for anyone to first permit themselves to be loved by their own self. Such self responsibility's are by no means any traits of narcissistic indulgences, it is but the foundation of what permits us to give of our self with out being taken from.

To better explain; a individuals body requires much love, and affection. The human soul seeks to constantly grow, sometimes willing to outgrow its own human container. Such growth requires attention to the needs, and desires of our souls, and spirits. One must take time to learn their own needs, and for some this can take all of their physical living lives. The human body wishes to feed itself on conscious thoughts, thoughts that aren't necessarily desired by its soul. Here begins the need for one to express selflessness, in the form of sharing this overflowing growth of love, and spirituality with the rest of our human encased spirits and souls. Ones soul can feel more fulfilled by fulfilling the desires of another consciousness.

So it seems one definition of selflessness is actually self-less-ness, a conscious act of giving of ones self to another without any need to receive any selflessness in return.
